In this story, a mom who worked as a therapist was shocked and hurt when another mom at her son's school accused her of doing her job because she was a bad parent after their sons had a disagreement at school that a teacher had to break up. The therapist had previously felt like the other woman had something against her because of her profession, but things got taken to a new level after this fight.
The mom felt upset after this altercation, feeling like it was entitled behavior to bring her profession into an issue that had nothing to do with it. She shared her story.

It is no secret that often the people who could benefit the most from some mental health support are the ones who reject the concept the most vehemently. Usually, the last thing they want is to acknowledge that they might have issues, and they often look down on those who are willing to admit to theirs or treat them.
As a result, working as a therapist can sometimes produce polarizing reactions in people who are not even clients. A job that is focused on the analysis of people can leave others insecure that they are going to face scrutiny outside of the professional environment. It can be an annoying thing to deal with, but it isn't often that it spirals into a genuine issue. However, when emotive situations come into play, it can be a factor that rears its head in an unexpected way. It is not necessarily easy to deal with.
