‘The most inconvenient “freebie” he’ll ever own’: Appliance delivery man charges extra cash fees and sneakily takes discarded appliance for himself, gets a big surprise when he looks inside

There are shady characters in every career path and it's up to you to learn how to weed them out. You never know who is going to take advantage of your lack of knowledge in a certain task. That's why you're hiring them in the first place, but times are tough and people can be greedy. Just take this lady who was just trying to buy a new fridge. When it comes to large appliances like a refrigerator an extra charge is added for removal. That makes total sense and is usually agreed upon before the job. However, when the delivery guy came to deliver/remove he kept adding on extra cash fees. $20 for this, $40 for that, cash only. Now, that is shady behavior! It all happened so fast, that they just paid the fees and wanted the delivery man gone. However, they had a sneaking suspicion that this guy was going to try and get as much money out of this job as possible, so he wasn't going to dispose of the fridge, he was going to take it for himself. And he did just that! But not before the customer took every single shelf and drawer out of there. Now he just has a big airtight box. Good luck using that!

  • Then why are you replacing it? I just renovated the kitchen and am getting stainless to match. He finishes the job and leaves.
