This is yet another story of a manager who decides team spirit needs a boost, so the spotlight swings over to whoever isn't looking frazzled enough. Everyone gets to watch while the calmest person is called out for not appearing busy, as if productivity gets measured by how much panic is showing at the surface. All that inbox mayhem and late-night Slack replies don't count if there's no visible flailing or dramatic monologues during morning calls.

Most offices have at least one person who can create more noise about work than actual progress. Meanwhile, the quieter types get called lazy for not booking meetings just to list off what they're already finishing.

  • Shartles AndJames Good for you. Honestly, I've stayed in jobs where the manager , and it just was toxic and slowly eroded my mental health and happiness. Eventually I left, but having someone s ing on you all the time takes it's toll, and life is too short. Good luck with your new gig.

They actually took it seriously, had me and my manager on a call with hr. I showed them my workload, how I had been online late at night, etc. HR basically told my manager to chill and stop singling me out - IDK what else they did with her.
