8-months-pregnant mother calls out entitled grandma at Petting Zoo when she pushes her grandkid ahead of line, teaching her a public lesson: ‘Not sure if it’s my hormones this late in the game or just the audacity that triggered me’

Petting zoos for toddlers are basically holding pens for chaos, tantrums, and adults selectively ignoring reality. After successfully wrangling a restless kid and standing in line longer than any reasonable person should, the "family photo op" finishing line is finally in sight. Cue the entrance of a tiny line-cutter with the speed of a caffeinated squirrel and the manners of a pro-wrestler.

I was imagining, Ooooh yeah, dig it! The Macho Man himself runnin' through my mind when i was writing about this kid, brother, but you can choose any other fighter you like, ohhh yeah!

So anyway, Grandma lingers several families back and announces a limp apology but seems oddly glued to her phone instead of her grandkid, as if pressing record magically replaces actual supervision. But the real magic trick is how quickly "sorry" morphs into subtle entitlement. Instead of removing the pint-sized interloper, grandma casually strolls over and, camera ready, asks for a photoshoot right in front of everyone.

  • Apparently, lessons on waiting one’s turn don’t apply when Nana is on the scene and Instagram needs content. Eight months pregnant and balancing a squirmy toddler, it’s hard not to laugh at this WrestleMania-level audacity. A cheerful, pointed reminder about fairness and not raising tiny line-jumpers gets nothing but huffs and sluggish retreat.

    I turn around to see the grandma 3 families back and she says "oh I'm so sorry!" But makes NO moves to grab her as the child starts touching things.

I'll just wait a sec for you to grab her so that my child doesn't get distracted when we go up" The woman starts to move slowly passed me (I'm 8 months pregnant also trying to contain my toddler while he gets impatient since we were next and we've been practicing waiting...struggle bus) and as she's doing it she's looking down at her phone swiping out her camera.

    She stands in front of the toddler, not grabbing her, and holds up her phone to say to me "Can I just snap her photos since I'm up here?" I say back to her "Well that wouldn't be fair since there's a line and we're teaching our toddlers how to wait in line.

    This woman then scoffed at me and slowly grabbed her grandkid while mumbling under her breath and constantly making huffing noises while walking slower than death back to the line.

  • The second act arrives minutes later in the form of another toddler swinging for the fences with a plastic toy, followed by a genuine, breathless apology from a parent who actually gets it. Toddlers will be toddlers. Grown-ups, though, should not be the ones modeling “me first” as a family tradition. They say it takes a village, but sometimes it feels like the village just wants a cute photo and someone else to teach manners.

    SofaSoGood1010 You handled that way better than most people would've in the moment, especially being 8. months pregnant and wrangling your own toddler. There's a huge difference between normal toddler chaos (which you clearly get) and an adult deciding the rules don't apply to them.
