Today I called out blatant entitlement at the thrift store. Can we all do this more?

So I was standing in checkout line when everyone behind me started bustling over a spill on the ground.
  • 03
It was pretty big with ice and everything. I'm positive it was not there when I got into the line.
  • 04
I look behind me, and the woman has an empty DD cup, clearly it was her drink.
  • 05
Whatever. Accidents happen. Maybe she was embarrassed and that's why she didn't say anything. A few workers come out to clean it up.
  • 06
I check out, everything's normal, and she's in front of me at this point walking out of the store.
  • 07
I saw her return her cart, stop for a second to think about whether or not she wanted to leave her cup (trash) sitting in the cart.
  • 08
She chose to leave it there. Now I'm right behind her walking out as we pass two trash cans right at the entrance.
  • 09
So I said to her, "hey there's a trash can right here!" She ignored me and I said something again, she still ignored me.
  • 10
so I told her to grow up and pick up after herself She refused to even look at me but before she got in her car she yelled out at me "at least I don't look like you" Moral of the story.
  • 11
Call people out on their entitlement. They don't expect it and they'll never forget it.

gitree22 I prefer to make sure they see me collect their trash (or usually their grocery cart) and use the Fran Lebowitz line "Let's pretend we live in a city"
  • 14
OP entcanta333 Saving this one for next time!
  • 15
InitialPumpkin I would've put it on her car and said 'you forgot something'.
  • 16
OP entcanta333 It was a truck too. That'd have been awesome for her to find later
  • 17
Shot_Woodpecker_5025 Of course she was driving a truck. They are the biggest assholes in the area I live in
  • 18
OP entcanta333 Ikr it was the cherry on top
  • 19
cephu5 I'll adjust it to say "I'll call out blatant carelessness and entitlement when I'm fairly certain they are not HTO or i can at least outrun them"
  • 20
OP entcanta333 Haha I can't run for shit but I will throw down if needed.
  • 21
purplepixie610 It's even more entitled to follow someone in a parking lot just so you can police another adult's behavior. You're not their parent, just move on with life.
  • 22
OP entcanta333 Absolutely did not follow in any way, shape or form. I was walking to my car.

Rowan-The-Writer "At least I don't look like you" what a kindergarten insult by this lady, oh my.. Good on you, though, OP
