'My cat has adopted him': Person rescues a freezing little kitten in a bush outside, and their cat instantly chooses him and makes him part of the family

Our favorite thing about real cat distribution system stories is that they never miss. Sure, you can be someone like us, who loves cats and wants to adopt cats and would do literally anything for them, and then come across a stray kitten that needs adopting and say that it's the cat distribution system. It would be true, but it would also be obvious. Because duh, yes, we'll adopt the kitty. Real cat distribution system stories are ones where it goes for people who are not like us - when someone who hates cats gets chosen or someone who never wanted a cat.

And it's also stories like the one we have for you today. Yes, the person who adopted the kitten didn't hesitate, so maybe they were one of us - one of those people who would obviously be happy to be chosen by the system. But not… their cat. They already had one when they adopted the kitten, and there was absolutely no guarantee that things would work out with the two. But of course they would. Because this is the CDS we're talking about, and this kitten chose her cat too, not just her human.

  • Oh, your cat has definitely chosen this little fluffball, there is no doubt about that. Cats rarely accept other cats quite so quickly and lovingly. There is nearly always an adjustment period - whether longer or shorter. This happening is a special thing. And their bond is going to be amazing.

  • It is like they wait, sometimes, for us to bring them that sibling. Like they are a bonded pair that has been separated for too long. Sometimes, it really is simply meant to be, and all it takes is for them to see one another for their souls to recognize each other and connect.

    TheAlienBlob I once had a cat named Max who was huge, mean, and didn't like anyone other than me and the cat who helped raise him. Bring a kitten anywhere near Max and that kitten now had a huge guardian who cleaned and loved that kitten. Cats are amazing!
