Stray cat decides to adopt a couple of humans, they resist, then they cave, and now, the ginger kitten steals their dog's bed on a regular basis

One thing that we truly, wholeheartedly believe in is that when you are chosen by the cat distribution system, resistance is futile. Seriously, you can try, but we have seen, time and time again, that even if you manage to hold out for a little while, eventually, the kitty will win you over, and you will find yourself with a little hooligan in your house who likes breaking your vases and screaming for food at 5 AM. And yes, it will be the most amazing thing that has ever happened to you. 

Now, this couple tried. They truly tried resisting, and some would say that they are still in denial now, but the deal has been signed. They have been chosen by a ginger kitten, and that ginger kitten, whether they are in denial or not, is in their home, stealing their dog's bed on a daily basis, and just- making herself comfortable. As she should. The humans may not have accepted that they have been chosen yet, but that doesn't change the fact that they have.

    Mango, one of the neighborhood cats, decided he wanted to live with us. We resisted. I eventually gave in. He is now microchipped, neutered, flea and tick free, and spends 80-90% in my house pretending we belong to him

  • Resisting was your first and worst mistake. You just made yourself an even more interesting target - something to conquer. Cats are not creatures that give up. Once they decide that a home is theirs for the taking, it's only a matter of time until the residents inside cave.

  • Yeah, he's definitely not pretending. If you are still at the denial stage and need a little more time to process that you have been adopted by a mischievous little cat, that is okay. It really is. Doesn't change the facts of the matter. Human, you have indeed been adopted.
