'I'm not punishing my kid for doing something hilarious': Teen gets in trouble for outsmarting school's IT director and hacking the firewall, mom applauds her son's intelligence

Being a parent comes with lots of learning moments for both parents and kids. When is it the time to teach your kid a life lesson and when is it the time to pat them on the back and encourage their behavior? It's up to the parents' digression and it can be hard to figure out.

For this mother, however, she knew this was a moment to pat her kid on the back even if his school was punishing him. Him and a friend pulled a harmless prank by putting Skibidi toilet memes on all the school's monitors. They got caught and were sent to the principal's office. They were discussing punishment and the mom was called. She told him that if he tells the truth, then she won't punish him and he just has to do the time the school gives him. However, if he lies, then he gets punished at home and at school. So he confessed to his crime. What was it? He hacked the schools system and outsmarted the IT Director's firewall. It was so impressive, that the IT director needed him to show him how he did it.

Though the school was upset, the mom was impressed and wanted to reward his intelligence.

Call me a terrible mom all you want, but I'm not punishing my kid for doing something ***king hilarious, especially not when it just shows how intelligent he is.

Okay so my son and his friend hacked into the school firewall and you can do terrible things in there right but instead of doing something bad or something super bad they just put skibidi toilet memes up on the TV's in the school. Some kids saw them do it and he ratted on them so they got called into the office and my kid was getting interviewed.

So the IT director and the Vice Principle was there and they put me on speaker and they were so perplexed because this was the first time in school history that this has ever happened, that their firewall has been breached.

I was like, from the start, after they told me what happened, ‘if you were a part of this or you did this and you admit to it now, then you will not be punished at home, but you will have to take whatever punishment you get at the school. If you lie to me and they do this investigation on you and you get caught lying to me then you will be punished at both home and at school.’ He's like, ‘okay, I did it.’

Then the IT director was like, 'I just don't understand how you got through the firewall!' And my son was like, ‘oh, it was super easy. Do you want me to show you?’

And, it's like, this is why I can't punish him for this. I'm not punishing my kid for being smarter than your IT director. You can give him whatever school punishment you wanna give him he, shouldn't have done it. But I am not punishing my kid for being smarter than your director of IT.
