Mixing money issues with family ties is bound to get messy. Even a small loan of $100 or $500 can cause tension when that cousin doesn't pay you back. They say you should always give out loans as "gifts," not intending to get the money back. After all, if your family member desperately needs $1000 to pay off car loans or pay rent this month or get their affairs in order, what makes you think they'll magically gain that money back to repay you any time soon? 

However, this man's family stole a large amount of money from him, and they seemingly spent it almost everyone else in the family but him! He had nearly $100k, and Mom spent it helping out the cousins, including letting them travel the world. Now, this person is about to get married, and doesn't have any of that money to show for it. 

He told the original story, and also added in an update, and it does seem that he's handling things with grace. $100k is the amount of money that might take a lifetime to repay! If this guy doesn't end up filing a police report, which might make his family members go to jail for a long time, he's going to have to forgive and forget… or at least get Mom on a monthly payment plan or something.
