‘Unlikely best friends’: Brother's chonky cat and bearded dragon defy nature to become the sweetest sunbathing duo on the internet

Cats are not known for making friends easily. In fact, cats are renowned for their purrfect pickiness when it comes to new people, pets, or even food. But every once in a while, a cat will open their heart to an unexpected friend. The key to making a cat your friend is to find common ground and make them understand that you share their interests and general disdain for others. Naturally, for us, this isn't hard because we hate everyone that isn't a cat, but that's also why we're considered expurrts over here at the I Can Has Cheezburger offices.

But we're not here to talk about us, we're here to talk about a chonky cat (one of our furvorite topics) and his unlikely best friend - a dragon. A bearded one, and nowhere near the size of one of Deanery's dragons, but a dragon nonetheless. They've bonded over sunbathing, long periods of silence, and enjoying scratches, but more than that, they've pawsitively captured the internet's heart. Some people say they shouldn't be together, but we say that they're a match made in heaven. Let them enjoy laying in warm places without a single sound and just enjoy the cuteness they make together. They're happy, so why aren't you?

  • Yes, this cat is chonky, but what if he likes being chonky? Let him be chonk, as long as it's not affecting his health. Also, you're not his owner, so calm down. If this were your cat, you would be free to put him on a diet. But it's not your cat, so don't get your feather toys in a knot over someone else's choices.

  • See? It's not so uncommon. Cats do have it in their hearts to love, and we know that because they love us. But why not also a scaly, silly dragon? We think cats and dragons have a lot in common, actually. ‘Toothless’ from How to Tame Your Dragon is based on a cat, so clearly we're not the only ones who think so.

    We panicked and feared the worst.....Salem wouldn't hurt a fly normally but he gets anxious when I'm away. When we investigated Hiro was sitting on top of sleeping Salem and head bobbing happily, the smears where fresh raspberries Gerry had been eating and decided to feed Hiro as a side dish with his crickets.
