Customer pays $115 for special Halloween charcuterie board, gets "lazily put together" snack tray: 'You deserve to be refunded for this'

This Halloween-themed charcuterie board is scarily underwhelming, and people are urging this customer to request a refund. 

Creating a beautiful charcuterie board is one of those things that people tend to undervalue. They see a nice tray of meats, cheeses, fruits, and sweets beautifully arranged, and think to themselves, "I could do that for $20!" Not so fast there, pal! These boards tend to be quite pricey, depending on the size and event, and you could easily expect to pay $100+ for it. People really underestimate how much meats and cheeses cost, let alone the variety these creators provide — they may add in olives, chocolates, fancy fruits, and more. And no matter how many inspirational Instagram reels you watch, a professional is going to make a way more aesthetically pleasing spread than a regular untrained person could. You're paying for ingredients, expertise, and delivery, and in return, your guests have an incredible banquet of foods to munch on. 

This person, though, was totally taken aback by a charcuterie order gone wrong. They wanted a Halloween-themed board complete with a plastic skeleton decoration in the middle. I love that! There are so many things you could do to make that cute, and this person was even kind enough to send the creator 3 inspiration images. The inspo pics include things like skeleton hands reaching out for the treats, a cheese with a jelly-filled bat center, and a grinning plastic skeleton with a meat-filled middle. Very cute, very chic, but not something just an average person could probably pull off. 

Just wait until you see what this person got — it is laugh-out-loud funny, and I truly do hope they get their well-deserved refund. The end result looks really cheap — I think you literally could make this yourself for like $30, with the cost of that cheap plastic decoration included!

I thought it would be a clever addition to our other spooky snacks and I was wondering if you'd be able to accommodate that? It would be for about 10-12 people.     Good morning We offer these boards already! But we just haven't released them here yet (we will October 1st As far as a drop and go on boards, we don't really do that because our prices are based on the size of boards and how much of the provisions/charcuterie/cheese etc that we are using. For a spooky coffin board with skeleton and themed for 10-12 people start at $200 ea. I may be able to honor it this this time if you can give me the dimensions of the board you are trying to use, but it would

I'm fine with also just using the board that you're offering but just in case I've attached pictures with dimensions of two different board I saw on Amazon.     Hi It would probably just be easiest if I made the board and used our coffin boards since I have it already and know the dimensions and the amount of the provisions for it. The total cost would be $115, assuming you are picking up and we have availability. What day/time did you need this?

    It's incredible! It's awful! It's very, very funny. 

    We have half a skeleton looking super awkward and stiff. It's surrounded by grapes, strawberries, blackberries, a few types of really similar-looking cheeses, a few meats, and some candy corn. This is what you'd expect if you made the board yourself, full of foods you can find at any grocery store. Not a specialty fig jam or lychee in sight. This is not worth $115! Commenters couldn't stop giggling about the spooky charcuterie, and it's easy to see why.

    Tric... This was a thrown together job, that was done last minute. Completely unacceptable, especially since you sent inspo pics. And where is the rest of the skeleton? And the rest of the servings?! 10-12 people this is supposed to serve. You deserve to be refunded for this.

    TelephonePoss... OP I'm just in awe that she originally wanted to charge me $200 for this bullshit.....even the discount price wasn't worth it. It was barely worth $50. Like What there was worth $200?!!! It's not even the same SIZE as the pics........
