  • Man eating a burger while driving a car
  • To my dasher tonight. I hope you have the life you deserve.
  • Got home from a long work day, decided to Doordash dinner for the family. Half my family has food allergies, So I make a sizeable order from a local food joint. Couple pizzas, couple calzones, oreo pizza (don't ask), brownie, salad,

  • inside, see my calzones and salad. The calzones had been broken open, the plastic bag of the salad was very loosely tied. I was absolutely dumbfounded.

  • Little to this dasher's knowledge, my wife is friends with the GM of the restaurant. So one quick call to the store, and text to the GM, we find out that the bag with the salad

  • had been tightly tied, and the calzones get dashed completely unopened. So this waste of space not only stole food, but rifled through everything else to find out what he wanted to take, which means we sure as shit aren't eating it.

  • We had to reorder because the "refund" Doordash wanted to give in "credit" was ~80% of what I spent. So now I sit here, hungry and angrily stewing because someone

  • stole my order. Hell, the tip I gave could have bought him a pizza and a brownie from the same place.

  • I heard of some Doordash horror stories, and it is a risk, trusting some rando to deliver food. However we dash all the time. We have a DashPass, We get the odd fry missing, or drink lost. But never, NEVER, have we dealt with this level of insanity.

  • If the dasher who did this to my family happens to be on here, I hope you have the life you deserve.

  • OP. UPDATE: Doordash only submitted one of the pizzas for redelivery. I don't have time for anything else, I have to get up in 6 hours. All because one guy decided to steal from me.

  • misterbrunoh I dash and the absolute last thing I even think about is ever touching someone's food. Sorry people are so shitty out there. Not all of us are animals

  • celestial1357 I genuinely don't understand the scumbags who do this. I used to dash full time but eventually surrendered and got a regular 9 to 5. I couldn't do it anymore.....anyway there

  • were SOOO many times when I got to a restaurant and the order had already been picked up by another dasher, but the customer never received it, though the restaurant definitely made the order and gave it to a dasher. Like at least 40-50 times.
    via celestial1357
  • What I dont understand is how are they getting away with it? WHY are they able to get away with it? It's not fair to the restaurant, the customer, and the next dasher who just expects to pick up a normal order and instead has to deal with all that.

  • I'm sorry that happened to you. Some people are fucking irredeemably shitty.

  • NeoMoose · This is why I prefer delivery Chinese (one of the last bastions of real delivery). DoorDashers don't have a boss. No manager checking them. No schedule. They don't even interview for the work. Then, the Al customer service covers for their shittiness.

  • I call my local Chinese joint with an issue I have faith that the family running the place is gonna yell at their kid for anything they did and I have a real shot at getting it fixed - but hardly anything ever goes wrong.

  • TheOriginalShepp ⚫ As a dasher, report them immediately for stealing your food. They'll never be able to dash again.
