  • Entitled mom at the grocery store tried to take food directly out of my cart because "her kids need it more"
  • This literally just happened. an hour ago and I'm still processing it. I'm at the grocery store doing my weekly shopping.
  • I'm 7 months pregnant and have been craving these specific chocolate chip cookies from the bakery section all week. They're made fresh and they only make one batch per day, so if you don't get there early they sell out.
  • I grabbed the last container. Score. I'm going through the aisles filling my cart when this woman (probably late 30s)
  • with two kids comes up to me. She points at the cookies in my cart and goes "Oh perfect, you found them! Where'd you get those?"
  • I told her the bakery section but they were the last ones. She frowned and said "Well I need them for my son's bake sale tomorrow."
  • I said sorry, maybe they'll have more tomorrow morning. Then she literally REACHED INTO MY CART and tried to take the cookies.
  • I grabbed them back and said "Excuse me, what are you doing?"
  • She had the audacity to look offended. She said "I just told you, I need them for the bake sale. You can get cookies anywhere, this is for my child's SCHOOL."
  • I said "That's not my problem. I got here first, these are mine."
  • She started getting loud. "Are you seriously going to be selfish about cookies? Look at you, you clearly don't need them anyway."
  • I'm visibly pregnant. Did she really just comment on my weight?
  • I said "I'm pregnant and these are the only thing that sound good right now. You're not taking my food." She called over a manager. Like actually flagged one down.
  • When the manager came over she put on this sweet voice and said "Hi, I'm so sorry to bother you but this woman has the last container
  • of cookies and I need them for my son's school bake sale tomorrow. I was hoping you could ask her to be reasonable and let me have them since it's for children."
  • The manager looked uncomfortable and turned to me. Before I could even respond, the woman added "She's being incredibly rude and selfish. What kind of person denies children?"
  • Foxey IIII
  • I told the manager "I picked these up 20 minutes ago. They're in my cart. She's literally trying to take food out of my cart."
  • The entitled mom jumped in "It's for SCHOOL. A BAKE SALE. She's just going to eat them herself!"
  • The manager very politely said "Ma'am, I understand your situation but once items are in a customer's cart they belong to that customer. I can't ask her to give them up."
  • This woman's face went RED. She started ranting about how "people are so selfish these days" and "this is why kids don't learn values" and "I can't believe you're choosing HER over CHILDREN."
  • One of her kids (maybe 8 years old) tugged on her sleeve and quietly said "Mom it's okay we can just buy other cookies."
  • She snapped at him "No! These are the GOOD ones!" Then turned back to me. "You know what, I hope you choke on them."
  • Then she stormed off with her cart, nearly running into a display. The manager apologized to me and asked if I was okay. I was honestly just shocked.
  • But here's the kicker - as I'm checking out about 10 minutes later, I see her in the parking lot loading groceries into a BMW X5. One of the bags? Full of bakery items.
  • Cookies, cupcakes, brownies. So she clearly found alternatives and was just being dramatic about MY cookies specifically.
  • What is wrong with people? Who tries to take food directly out of someone else's cart? And then plays the "but my children" card while insulting them? I'm eating these cookies out of pure spite now.
  • jaded1121⚫ Sh could have ordered them ahead of time since she obviously cant bake.
  • Cocoa Almo... My favorite part is that she's buying cookies for a bake sale -- instead of BAKING them.
  • SHAsyhl⚫ I guess she wasn't garnering sufficient attention from other shoppers by conducting herself like a rational adult, so she needed to go for the drama.
