  • This is my dads story not mine but I thought I would still post. English isn't my first language and I'm on mobile so sorry advance for all the mistakes.I'll be keeping things vague to keep my anonymity.
  • So my dad was born in country A but moved to country B in his late 20s. The family home was always willed to my dad by my granddad however during the last few years of his life he was very ill so my uncle and his mistress moved into the family home to "take care" of my grandpa also cuse my uncles then wife threw him out their house for cheating. My dad wasn't happy about the mistress staying over however would rather have my uncle take care of my grandad than put him in a home or have in house c
  • My grandpa sadly passed seat a few years back and my uncle was still staying at the house.
  • One year after his passing my dad finally asked him to leave the house or to buy the house off him and while my uncle agreed to begin with he went back on his word a few months later.
  • Another couple of months passed and my dad decided to move legally but the legal route takes forever.
  • My dad cut the electricity and water to the house as he was the one who was always paying for it yet they still refused to leave.
  • Shocked man Holding His Head
  • This year he finally had enough of my uncles BS and had people scout the area for when no one was in the house and had the house demolished so there's no house for them to go back to now.
  • Edit Info about my uncle - my uncle here is the older son and the golden boy out of the sibling this man was also willed a house of his own plus other stuff form the inheritance but he lost that hose in the divorce and made some stupid decisions with the other half.
  • My dad actually got the least amount of inheritance as he was deemed well off and my uncle was deemed needing more support.
  • BTW my uncle also owns a business he has enough money to get a place of his own but he wont cuse why would he when he can stay in the big family house for free

  • Draigdwi What did dad gain from no house?
  • OP Sensitive-Phase-9319 He got ride of a headache. He was gaining nothing from the house being there and one day in the future he might do something with the land. This was a 5 bedroom house btw with a massive front and back garden.
  • Bored_Eastly What was the reactions of the brother and mistress?
  • OP Sensitive-Phase-9319 Well as you can imagine they went happy and my uncle actually went to police himself saying the house he was living in got demolished...nothing gonna come it though as he need to prove ownership
  • Useless890 Bonus points if their stuff was still inside at the time.
  • OP Sensitive-Phase-9319 Nah my dads too good of nice guy he put that was there's into bin bags and left them on the side I personally would have kept it all the house lol
  • sgwaba So your dad had a demolition crew waiting around the corner for a weeks or two and then when your uncle finally went grocery shopping, he had the house destroyed. Paid money to not have a house to sell. Good thing you said English isn't your first language and you were on a mobile because that helps to fill in these gapping holes in this fictitious story.
  • OP Sensitive-Phase-9319 Pretty much yes there is more to the story try but I can't reveal as I want to stay anonymous A few weeks of planing did go into this. My uncle works mon-fri but his mistress is stay home, we had neighbours and people in the area to let us know when she also left the house this wasn't difficult due the location and area the house is in. As soon as she left police were called for demolition began shortly after. I cant reveal the country this happened in but in this country
  • Hopeful_Extension_46 So his brother was good enough to take care of the ailing grandpa, and saving lots of money for your father? But not good enough to even consider giving him some portion of the inheritance? I don't like all the parties of the story.
  • OP Sensitive-Phase-9319 Yeah he really didn't move in take care of my grandparent my dad payed 100% of all the medical bill and any extra care that he needed. As for inheritance it was split equally between all the siblings and grandchildren, my uncle has his own house and other cuts form the inheritance but he was stupid with it and his now ex wife got the house in the divorce that's another story in itself
  • CharlieUpATree But cutting essential services isn't an issue...
  • OP Sensitive-Phase-9319 Well yeah he can decide to cancel his electricity and water bills as he's not living there. This isn't a renter situation where he would be liable for doing something like that... In case you're wondering why he didn't throw them 1. he didn't was to use violence and pit himself at risk or face any legal charges that followed it and 2.if his mistress said my dad touched her inappropriately that could be fatal to his lividly hood
  • JuliaX1984 That's not how demolition works. (Unless you're a person I'm sure I'm not allowed to bring up.)
  • OP Sensitive-Phase-9319 Correct I have left out quite a bit of detail to anonymity sake but over a week of planning went but just know that country's have different systems if you know the right people and are willing to spend enough money you can hire them on very short notice
  • Elegant_Cockroach_24 I mean you're telling the facts as retold by OP's dad who had an interest in misrepresenting the reason his brother moved in. I highly doubt that OP's dad is a good person. He likely inherited as the eldest child while the younger child is used for providing care. That fits the archetype of many cultures sadly.
  • OP Sensitive-Phase-9319 You're both correct and wrong My uncle is the elders and actually inherited the most but he was super dump with his choices that's a story in itself... My dad is actually the youngest child of all the siblings and yes one expected to provide care. He actually also got the least amount of of inheritance too as he was deemed to be well off as he has a good life established in country B
  • Hey-Just-Saying So rather than simply having the brother evicted, he tore down a perfectly good house which he could have sold to someone else?
  • OP Sensitive-Phase-9319 There wasn't a contract in place to evict them, they just lived in and starting living there, this was more like a family / squatters situation, it had gone the court but it was taking so much time and it was causing more problem and than fixes.
  • JuliaX1984 So courts forbade kicking him out but didn't take action for demolishing the house the courts were letting him stay in...?
  • OP Sensitive-Phase-9319 Courts never forbade kicking out, the case was still working it way around the legal system there so much that goes into it, but in order to get a proper legal notice and police support to kick them out it was taking its time We could have kicked through non legal means but that had massive potential to end badly...
