A morning routine is incredibly important to keep, especially in the cold months. Life can throw a lot at you over the course of the day, and you have to be prepared for it. The best way to do this is to have a morning routine that you love and can stick to. Maybe you wake up a little early so you can read a few pages of a novel before work. Maybe you have a suite of skincare products that you spend time using. Maybe there's a local coffee shop that you frequent that makes the best lattes the world has ever seen. But it doesn't have to be anything fancy. Maybe you just take a shower. 

In life, there are morning showerers and there are night showerers. Each side is convinced that they're the right one, and it's hard to switch sides. Night showerers love the feeling of being clean in bed, washing away the grime of the day, unwinding as you go. Morning showerers love that it helps them wake up and feel ready to take on the day. The son in this story was a morning showerer, but his family didn't quite love that.
