Everyone's first day at a new job can be a little rattling, especially in the fast-paced world of the restaurant industry. Are you holding the trays securely? Do you remember the menu? Did you remember to mark down those allergies for the kitchen? 

Oftentimes, newbie servers and waiters will find themselves in the weeds from the moment they set foot in a new restaurant simply because of the stress of starting in a new position. Because the only indicator of a server's success comes after a table has ordered, eaten, and left, servers rely on tips and customer surveys to validate their on-the-job performance. 

With management standing over your shoulder and customers rattling off their orders with increased speed and frustration, it's no wonder this woman in our next story went viral for her first-day-on-the-job reaction. Albeit a wee bit dramatic, she cried on the spot when a customer finally tipped her, claiming he'd made her night when he topped 70% on a small order as a simple 'Congratulations' for a job well done. Overwhelmed with emotion and unleashing her relief on the restaurant's regulars, this wholesome customer encounter won't be something this server will soon forget.
