We all love to reminisce every now and then. It's why we have such things as high school reunions. But reunions aren't quite the same nowadays because we all have some idea of what we've been up to via social media. You know who has gotten engaged, who has a baby, and who is still living at home. You know that Johnny became the sheriff of your town, police department, and Cheryl booked two national commercials. But knowing what people have been up to in an abstract sense is different from reminiscing with them in person. It's one thing to look at somebody's life through a screen, and it's another thing to sit around a table and swap stories about what it was like to grow up together. 

It's important to do that with the people you grew up with. Nobody else knows exactly what you went through, but they do. You can talk about the inside jokes he used to have, the crazy teachers that you would make fun of, and the TV shows that you would stay up late to watch.
