'I love him and am considering keeping him': A hungry pup’s brave little visit turns into the chance at a warm, safe, and love-filled future with his chosen hooman

When a friendly, scruffy stranger just strolls into the house like he pays rent, you know the Cat Distribution System has competition because this time, a dog pulled the move. Dirty, starving, and collar-less, this sweet boy walked right off the street and into someone's heart. A quick vet visit revealed no clear owner, just a confusing phone call and then radio silence. With no one claiming him and with how hungry he was, it's hard not to suspect he was abandoned.

For now he's being fostered, fed, loved, and evaluated and he's fitting in well. Yes, he's gassy enough to clear a room. Yes, he's a little too enthusiastic about the resident pets. And yes, he might have allergies. But he's also gentle, social, and clearly thrilled to be somewhere safe.

If no owner comes forward, keeping him is definitely on the table. The hope is that with time, training, and slow introductions, he'll coexist happily with the resident pug and cats. It already feels like he chose this home long before anyone realized it.

    the owner and said she'd called the real one. Then her phone was turned off and nobody came to claim him. They have my contact info in case someone looks for him at the vet tomorrow.

    I am fostering him until I can figure this out but based on how dirty and hungry he was, I think he was abandoned. The vet mentioned he may also have allergies based on the red on his face?

    I love him and am considering keeping him if the owner can't be found. He farts so much though, god damn. He is neutered but has already tried to mount my (spayed) pug a few times. He seems very interested in my cats as well. Friendly, but I still wouldn't leave them alone together at this point.

  • He has definitely picked you as his hooman. The way he walked in, made himself comfortable, and refuses to leave your side says it all. Some pups just know exactly where they belong.
