When we were kids, our dad would wait until the very last minute to turn on the heating in the house. His solution for most of winter was, "Just put on a sweatshirt", or "Just sleep under more blankets". He was trying to save money instead of turning on the very expensive heat for a family of four, and now, as adults, we get it. We also bundle up instead of turning on the heat, and we break out our horde of purrfectly fuzzy blankets before even touching the thermostat. We may be less strict than he was, but we still have a few tricks up our sleeves to stay warm when the winter weather bites back.

The pawsitively most effective one is to keep your body moving in any way pawssible. Since we despise physical exercise, our solution is to giggle as often as we can. So, on those purrfectly cold days, we also take out our secret stash of festive felines in the form of funny, fluffy memes, to laugh our way through the chilliness. With some giggles in our tummy, purrfectly burrito'ed in a pile of blankets, we can save money, stay warm, and stay happy without ever having to touch the thermostat.

  • We may or may not be guilty of this. We usually make our pies every year, but sometimes, you just don't have a free 8 hours to make a few pies by hand. It's a lot of work! You have to make the dough, chill the dough, pre-bake the crust, make the filling, then bake the actual pie, and then rinse/repeat that for every other pie you make. It's a full-time job!
