Tenant with two rescue dogs clashes with her intrusive landlord, who keeps entering the home unannounced and trying to befriend the dogs so she can enter the property at any time, sparking drama over boundaries: 'There should be zero reason for this'

The landlord gods seemed to have blessed this dog-loving couple with a rather interesting one…The most important factor when looking for a place to call home is not the size, nor the location…but whether or not the place is pet-friendly, duh! If the answer is yes… then everything else should go ahead pretty smoothly. But is there such thing as a place being slightly too pet-friendly? Or a landlord being slightly too interested in forming a relationship with your dogs so that she can pop in any time, without your dogs feeling threatened?… Sounds a bit odd, doesn't it? 

Well, this is the dilemma this couple is currently facing with their overly nosy landlord…Who seems to be taking the couple's outdoor construction as an invitation to enter and leave their home as she pleases, as she ensures everything is "well-managed." The excuses range from leaks to simply wanting a nice relationship with their two rescue dogs…But this couple is feeling uncomfortable with her invasive approach, and has begun to debate over whether to "get legal" regarding her constant unannounced pup-play-time visits…

  • It's expected for this tenant to want her home to be a place in which her pets feel safe…and the more we think about it, the more we wonder for what possible reason this landlord would want to be able to enter their house without ‘disturbing their dogs’? Is she waiting for an accident to happen so she can claim against the couple, or is she genuinely just craving some puppy love? Either way, it's not her boundary to break.

  • OP coldwetsoggyramen That's what I was thinking. She knows I have her texts, her on camera etc entering the house and doing sketchy shit. And now she wants something to try and throw back at us. I refuse to let my dogs be the collateral damage.

  • Certain Click2405 No decent Landlord will enter without gaining permission or a 24 hr notice to enter. While you pay rent the home is yours. ITS AGAINST THE LAW. Period. I would carry pet insurance just incase there is an incident though.
