Start up your sled's engine and grab your sleighbells, Christmas is HERE. For many holiday enthusiasts like myself, Thanksgiving always gets in the way of celebrating Christmas. Although the turkey dinner with mashed potatoes is fun n' all, truthfully, it should never be on the calendar so close to Christmastime because it shortens the number of weeks that it's socially acceptable to sing Christmas songs. While I'm all for a family feast, let's just focus on the holiday hay-day from now on, shall we?
Mini Polar Express-style train ways built in retail shop windows, jolly mall Santas, and handcrafted gumdrops embellish the season's most beautiful aura. Christmas lights sparkle when the sun sets too early, and the glow of good vibes is more infectious than the seasonal cold. Children are laughing and playing outside in the cold, bringing pink-cheeked good fun into the home for their families to enjoy. Gifts await unwrapping under a fresh pine tree, while the sugar cookies cool on the counter and the Grinch movie plays on repeat (the Jim Carrey version, of course).
For many, the Christmas season is an unforgettable time of laughs, love, and merry mirth, so in the next three weeks, soak up the holly jolly happiness that comes with the cold and remember that the memories forged by the light of the fireplace are always the warmest.
