Resident puts spikes on their yard after entitled neighbor refuses to stop driving over their flower garden, costing neighbor two flat tires: ‘She deserved it’

Many people take a lot of pride in all the work they put into making the front of their house look beautiful. We've all seen how much effort goes into some front yards. There are even those with sentimental feelings towards a specific decoration, whether it's a gnome gifted to them by their great-grandmother, or a flower bed they planted with a late loved one.

The resident in the story below, for example, planted roses in their front with their mother before she moved to Mexico, so this flower garden is really important to them. When they saw that a neighbor's daughter kept driving over it when she parked her car, they asked her nicely to be mindful of the flowers.

She, however, did not care at all about the damage she was doing and kept driving over the front yard, no matter what the resident put there to stop her. That was until they turned to the HOA to ask for permission to put spikes in their yard, which the HOA agreed.

  • correctly so I put up 3 in tall bricks with concrete to keep them in place around the edge of the yard to prevent her from coming into the yard due to just feeling the bricks but not even 2 weeks after putting them up she knocked 3 of them out of the ground.

  • So I removed all the bricks, made molds of the same size. Poured concrete in said molds with nails poking .5in-1 in out of them and laid them around the perimeter of my yard.

  • And then when she saw the nails poking out, and she got mad called the cops saying I vandalized her car but they couldn't do anything due to it being in my yard and her driving on my yard even after warnings and asking nicely for her to stop.

  • bonzai 113 I had to do something similar about 6 years ago. I have thirty acres of land and had to put collapsing spikes on a few of the entrances to my land. These spikes let you leave but not enter. Local kids used to race their dirt bikes and 4-wheelers across my land.
