It's that time of year when leaving the house after you get home from work seems genuinely impossible. Maybe you even have plans. Plans that you were looking forward to. But as soon as the sun sets, and you're lying on your couch at home, thinking about bedtime before it's even dinner time, the motivation has a way of zapping right out of you. But it's important that we push through this feeling in order to enjoy the winter season and not totally lose ourselves to the bed rot of the cold months.

There are plenty of ways that we can combat this feeling. One of my favorite ways to do it is by putting on a really good dance record and forcing myself to dance around the house. It helps if you have a cat or a dog that you can use as an audience member. Another way to do this is to just not go home after work. It's the time of year when, if you let yourself relax for a couple of hours at home, the odds that you make it back out again drop lower and lower with every passing minute.
