Entitled neighbor refuses to stop letting his dog out around the neighborhood unsupervised, then confronts new neighbors when they report him: ‘I'm friends with the mayor’

When you move into a new place, and your new neighbor knocks on your door, that is a defining moment that usually allows you to determine how your neighborly relationship is going to look for as long as either of you lives in that neighborhood.

If you're lucky, you exchange a couple of friendly words and are done with it. Those who aren't that lucky get a glimpse into the depth of the trouble they just moved into. The neighbor in the story below thought they got the former option, only for a later interaction to reveal that it's actually the latter.

Their initial interaction with their neighbor was rather friendly. He offered to clean out their lawns and seemed like a nice guy. Then, they found out that he lets his dog out without supervision, which they didn't love. But the final confirmation that this neighbor is trouble was when he confronted them for reporting him to animal control… when they didn't do such a thing.

This situation only escalated when they claimed he shouldn't confront people for things they didn't do, especially when he is in the wrong.

  • Glittering_Web_9997 The mayor is buddies with a whole lot of people, that's how he got elected! Just saying your blow hard neighbor may not be so special if you ask the mayor. Mayors don't have tons of authority to let buddies violate the ordinances and laws. That maybe why the dog is scarce and the neighbor is keeping to himself.
