Personally, I find that my cat is the only one who truly understands my Midwestern urge to say "Ope" and disappear into another room when a conversation gets too long. My own cat recently spent twenty minutes screaming at a rogue piece of wrapping paper, yet somehow, watching her tiny, unbothered brain work through the physics of a cardboard box did more for my stress levels than any "mindfulness" app ever could. She isn’t worried about the guest list; she’s worried about why the vacuum is out of the closet and whether the new tree is a climbing structure or a snack.

If you’re currently hiding in the kitchen to avoid a distant cousin or just need a break from the relentless jingle bells, these memes are for you. Let these judgmental, fluffy little weirdos remind you that it’s perfectly okay to spend the rest of December being slightly antisocial and very high-maintenance. It’s what the cats would want for us.
