Ah, the irreversible and unrelenting march of time.

We're not sure where 2025 went, but it went somewhere. In fact, we're literally days away from 2026. Another year older, another year farther away from our retirement, but hey, at least we have our cats. We think we can all agree here at I Can Has Cheezburger that cats are the very foundation of what makes life livable. We wake up at 5 AM to their purrfeclty incessant screams, feed them, get some cuddles, kiss them 1,000 times before leaving for work, think about what they're doing all day without us, rush home to see them again, feel the sweet embrace of their love, then rinse and repeat.

We are not ready for 2026, but is anybody? Well, maybe our cats are, but as far as we know, they don't really understand the concept of a calendar year. But as long as we have our cats with us, and the many cats that we're friends with on the internet (don't make it weird, we know you have some too), we feel like we'll get through it just like we got through this year.

And you know what? We might even come out of it with some pawsitivity. 2025 may have been thrown in the litter box, but we must say, we got some pretty hissterical cat memes from it. Cats do have small brains (because of their purrfectly-shaped and awwdorably tiny heads), but you might be surprised at how long their meowmory can last! If the memory is linked to a strong emotion, like you providing them with safety and security, a cat can remember you for life.
