‘I wish you good luck and Merry Christmas. “Click!”': Entitled cat lady demands groomer trim her cat's claws during her holiday vacation, groomer professionally hangs up on her

A pet groomer decided to take off early for the holidays. Her daughter got out of school already and she didn't want to use all of her money for a sitter. So she took off. For her, that meant letting clients know that they cannot book a groom during certain dates. However, there is always that one entitled client who has to get their way. They don't seem to understand that just because you are hiring someone to do a task for you, does not mean you own them…

This entitled Karen went straight into tantrum mode. She couldn't understand why this groomer wasn't coming to trim her cat's nails ASAP. She couldn't wait any longer and her cat's claws were more important than this woman's family time. She even said she would watch her daughter while she trimmed her cat's nails. This stranger, who was berating this poor groomer? What kind of sane mom would leave her daughter with someone like that? 

Many would lose their cool in instances like this. They would start arguing back with the Karen. Maybe they would even swear and tell her to never book a service with them again. Perhaps they would go even as far as recording the conversation and posting it on Reddit to rant about. Instead, this steady mind was professional and stern. She stuck by her boundaries, refusing to work for her, and even contained herself as she got yelled at. Eventually, she wished this woman a happy holidays and hung up. She wasn't even the one to come to rant online about it, it was her sister who wrote about it. And you can tell that this sister is applauding and impressed with her sibling. Siblings inspire you in many different ways. In this case, it was standing up to an entitled customer.

  • We applaud any employee who stands up for themselves. Whether you are your own boss or not, it's a risky thing to talk back to a customer. Not everyone is in the mindset of having their employees back. Some managers still follow the archaic “the customer knows best” mentality which is just wrong on so many different levels. Alas, it is still in practice in some places. 

     

    So for this woman to not only hang up on this entitled client, but in a way that still feels professional and doesn't burn any bridges is impressive. Again, we applaud this behavior. In fact, we encourage it! Your time off, whether it's spending time with your family or bed rotting alone at home, is your time and you shouldn't let anyone take that away from you!
