We applaud any employee who stands up for themselves. Whether you are your own boss or not, it's a risky thing to talk back to a customer. Not everyone is in the mindset of having their employees back. Some managers still follow the archaic “the customer knows best” mentality which is just wrong on so many different levels. Alas, it is still in practice in some places.
So for this woman to not only hang up on this entitled client, but in a way that still feels professional and doesn't burn any bridges is impressive. Again, we applaud this behavior. In fact, we encourage it! Your time off, whether it's spending time with your family or bed rotting alone at home, is your time and you shouldn't let anyone take that away from you!
