Fear is not an emotion that we often associate with dogs or animals. Often it is deemed as solely a hooman thing and a relatively irrational one at that. But the truth is that in the right doses fear keeps us safe from all sorts of danger. Whether it be the burn of a hot flame or the undertow of a fast moving river. And as it happens our canine comrades are capable of experiencing fear just as well and as much as we can. At least that is what we have learned from this collection of pupper pawerent posts detailing their canine children' s most absurd fears. And through these posts we have come to understand that many darling doggos actually have some pretty unreasonable fears as far as fears go.

At least when you consider that they are doggos and have the genes of wolves within them. You would not expect them to necessarily be afraid of things such as plastic bags, cardboard boxes, or the wind. But here we are, living in a world where all of those things happen and are just a little too real to deny.

  • Well, that sure is an interesting combination. The half open door thing sounds a lot like a child who had the unfortunate happenstance of having done so in the past only to walk in on their pawrents doing the nasty deed right in front of them. Which is understandable that after such an event the half opened door would become quite the thing to stay away from. But trash bags, surely they should be gold mines for food scraps that can be stolen?

  • Oh come on now. You are an animal that is literally always wearing their jacket. Being left outside for a bit surely cannot be that bad of a thing. Obviously this likely stems from having been left outside for long periods of time in less than decent conditions. But at a certain point you have to know that your current and loving pawrents will not do that. And in the case that they stepped out with you for walkies and forgot something inside, they can quickly pop in, leaving you alone, outside for a moment, no?

    Our Pitbull (6 years old) is sadly very scared of car rides =( we adopted him when he was a few months old, but before that some fu d up people took him away from his mother (way too early) put him in a box and drove him to a completely different country to sell him or something.6 years later now and he still panics whenever he is in a car, because he thinks we will give him away...

    my maggie girl was terrified of thunder!! i remember one day i was at the grocery store when a storm rolled in. thankfully i was just a round the corner from my house but when i got home i couldn't find my girl anywhere. turns out she had gotten so scared she hit under my covers in the laundry room :') only took my a couple minutes to find her but i was distraught, lol.

    The wind. If there is even so much as a slight breeze she will walk sideways. Don't even get her started on flags or umbrellas blowing around!

    Chopping anything in the kitchen with a knife.... It started after my fiancés mom was here for Thanksgiving and we have no clue what happened to this day. I now have to let him in the backyard anytime I want to chop something He's still too cute though
