"Catio" protects a house cat from a ravenous coyote, and the fearless feline remains unbothered: 'My cat just sat there, completely calm (she’s braver than I am)'

Coyotes are a cat lover's worst nightmare. The only night predators capable of outrunning and outsmarting our clever and graceful outdoor kitties, they pose a very natural threat to our fur babies' safety! There's a reason most cat owners don't let their kitties out into the outside world; it can be dangerous out there for an adorably tasty morsel like a kitten.

Although they're purrfectly capable predators themselves, house cats have grown accustomed to a certain life of luxury. Unaware of the dangers beyond the front door, until recently, most cats have lost their experiences of wild cat life. However, with the rise of manmade "catios" (aka, cat patios), cats can now roam the outside world without fear of getting grabbed by a bird of prey, a black bear, or heaven forbid, a sneaky coyote.

When the cat owner in this next story realized exactly how effective her catio was, she heaved a sigh of relief, watching the frustrated coyote scuttle off after her brave feline taunted him through the catio walls.

Knowing she was safe, the cat was totally unbothered, relishing in her meowment of total unassailable beauty.

Cats know when they're safe from harm. Oftentimes, they trust in their nine lives more than they probably should, like when they leap from the top of the fridge onto a moving hooman, but there's a reason cats are so confident. Imperious and graceful, cats have an air of supurriority that they rightfully deserve. Natural-born predators, they still have that instinct of prowess, even when faced with dangers far larger than they've ever seen. But as many humans who are multi-pet owners can attest, regardless of the size of the dogs in the house, with a cat, the kitty will always be king (or queen) of the household.
Who can blame them? The Egyptians once worshipped cats; maybe we should consider bringing that back! Especially after this kitty stands up to a ravenous coyote, she deserves a medal of bravery at the very least. Is your cat at home as brave as this? Or do you have a scaredy kitty hiding under the bed? With cats there's no in-between. Nonchalance, or total scaredy cat, that's the only option.
