As the title states, I I came home from work and found a sweet little baby curled up right next to a drainage tube on the edge of our parking lot at our apartment complex, and I just need some
  • 03
help on what to do until I can get her some help in the morning! I'm thinking she probably escaped somehow and found her way into the tube (we all know how much ferrets
  • 04
love tubes lol) and I found her on the other side, curled up scared, and alone, not to mention, we are in the middle of a heat advisory in my area, so I definitely wanted to get her inside and
  • 05
let her cool off! I owned the ferrets a long time ago and definitely have a soft spot for them, so I want to help this sweet girl find her way back home, but I am a little rusty in terms of ferret care.
  • 06
We have notified our apartment property manager and are currently scrolling through our local community pages on Facebook to see if anyone is missing their pet, (don't worry, we aren't
  • 07
posting any pictures or anything, we are definitely trying to find her owner the right way, and not have her end up with some deranged person who might hurt her) but right now we are just
  • 08
trying to make her comfortable! We currently have her in a small cat carrier just to keep her in one place for a little bit until I can set up my bigger dog crate for her to stay in
  • 09
overnight, but everything in our area is closed at the moment so we are kind of stuck until I can call around in the morning. Also, we live quite away out from any pet store, and by the time I get there to
  • 10
buy any food, they will be closed. I just need to know if there is anything I can get for her at my local Dollar General just to get some food in her belly for now until I can make some calls in the morning? She has
  • 11
clean water and I'm setting her up a place to spend the night, I just want to try to give her some food!

SMALL UPDATE: Hi everyone! I just want to thank everyone so much for your help the last 24 hours! I went today and got some ferret food and some toys for her and borrowed a much bigger dog
  • 14
crate from my parents to get her set up in a little temporary apartment And she's doing amazing! I finally got her to eat and she is feeling much better with more space and lots of toys to play with and plenty of food
  • 15
and water. I have been in contact with a ferret rescue about two hours from my house and they said if I don't hear anything by Friday or no one comes to claim her, they are happy to take her in!
  • 16
SMALL UPDATE! good morning everyone! The little baby did great last night! I left some water in her carrier so she would at least have access to that until morning, and I did try to feed her last night but she just really wasn't wanting anything.
  • 17
I'm thinking she was either just really freaked out or maybe a little overheated from being outside, whatever the reason she just wasn't very hungry, so I'm going to try again this morning to see if I can get a little something in her belly and give her

some time to run around and play in the living room while we wait to see if anyone calls! My apartment manager has posted in our apartment community App this morning, and my fiancé posted a very vague post about a "found pet" in our towns community page on Facebook
  • 19
last night, (he wanted to try to make it vague, so if someone really was missing a ferret, we would know it was real!) I did locate a ferret rescue though! It is a couple of hours away from me, so if I don't hear anything from the posts, I'm going to try to take her to a vet to just see if
  • 20
she's chipped, and if not, I'll be calling the rescue. They said they will do pick ups, but if I have to take her myself, I most definitely will! Thank you all for your help, and I will most definitely keep you updated on the outcome!

Hello everyone! A few weeks ago, I posted about finding a ferret when I got home from work, and I have a happy update! The following days after I found her, we posted everywhere
  • 22
to try to find where she belonged, and we had her for about a week when we got the call that her home was found. She actually belonged to our upstairs neighbor, and when she came down to get her, she told us that she had
  • 23
a sister who had missed her very much and was actually refusing to eat the entire time she was lost. She was extremely happy that we found her and had kept her safe and happy, however, she opened up to us

that she was considering rehoming them because she was a single mom and had recently changed jobs and she was unable to give them the attention and love they deserved. She told us she wanted them to be
  • 26
happy and stay together, and seeing how well we took care of the one, she asked if we would like to adopt them together! So everyone, please say hello to Churro and Cinnamon, the newest permanent members of our

family! they have brought us so much joy in the short time we have had them, and we could not be happier to have them! Thank you to everyone who gave me advice on how to take care of Churro when she was "lost" and checked in to

    make sure everything was OK!
