I got a very strange phone call today from my old job. I had left that toxic place about 8 months ago after they completely refused to give me any decent salary increase. The important thing is I found a new job at a much better company, and my salary increased by 120%.
  • Apparently, things have completely fallen apart there since I left, and they can't find anyone to take over my old responsibilities. So now they're calling me again, offering me a salary higher than my current one just to come back.
  • Of course, I have absolutely no intention of going back. My current job is great, the culture is healthy, and I'm no longer stressed all the time. Honestly,
  • the only thing I miss is being the go-to person there. I had the final say in all the tech decisions, and that kind of gave me an ego boost, lol.
  • So tell me, what's the . classiest way to tell them to leave me alone?
  • Careless-Ad-6328 Say you're happy with your current job but would be happy to consult for them part time. Quote some hourly rate that's just absurd, and put in that it's a 3hr minimum, and you can only do it evenings and weekends.

  • bobish5000 I would reply. Thank you for reaching out but I happy with my current employer.
  • Old_Web8071 Once you decide to leave a company, don't change your mind. Even if they give you more money, the reasons you left are still going to be there.
  • Chemical_Pen_315 Block the number.
  • That_Old_Cat First, congrats on being smart enough to remove yourself from a toxic situation and your new job. I'd just tell them: "I've moved on in my career, and I'm happy where I am. Good luck."
  • wowbragger Honestly, unless you're open to consulting with them just don't reply. You left because of poor pay and work environment. Mentally purge yourself of it and don't let them occupy any more of your time.
