This superstition of calico cats being good luck goes back hundreds of years. Sailors once believed calico cats prevented shipwrecks, guarded against storms, and kept rats (and bad luck) away. Having a calico on board was basically the equivalent of having a fluffy talisman on board your ship.

In addition, the “Mani-neko cat”, AKA the money cat from Japanese culture, is originally a calico cat (not the all-white one that is pawsitively popular now). In addition to bringing wealth into your lives, the Mani-neko cat is said to purrtect homes and businesses, as well as warding off misfortune and illness. We'll take three, please!

Eve is the purrfect name for this cutie! Also, such a good name for a cat. Very sleek and mysterious. If she is someone's we hope she gets returned…. but if we're being honest, we kind of hope she's a stray. It would be such an incredibly heartwarming story if they were able to adopt her!
