Neglected beagle puppy abandoned at rural residence is rescued and cared for by loving family who, despite loving cats, never gave up on the dog’s recovery, pawrent says: ‘She also learned how to ask to play like a cat.’

While we have come across more than our fair share of dog lovers who end up rescuing a cat and falling in love, it is not all too often that the opposite happens. Not that cat lovers are not open to rescuing dogs, quite the opposite. But more so that it is less likely seeing as cats usually need more rescuing than dogs, and if you are already busy rescuing cats then you likely do not quite have time for the fewer dogs that need saving.

But much like in this story there are exceptions to every rule and there is no cat lover who would turn down a doggo in need, much as the couple in this story did. Thankfully it was a puppy who that cats could take on the responsibility of raising, which is something they relish, after all they would most certainly prefer a dog who behaves like a cat than a fully fledged dog invading their space.

  • Honestly, these puppy stories are restoring our faith in humanity. It is not often anymore that we get to see examples of people being good to one another. If anything the exact opposite is what we see most of in this world. Whether it be on the news or on social media, the word is that people are and should be becoming less and less friendly towards one another. But when you see a family or just people in general banding together like this to support a pupper in need it truly warms the heart to know that there is something in this world that will make us put our differences aside for once.

  • Holy moly, that would have been a good fact to add to the original story, 11 cats is a mad house in itself. It is a wonder that this woman’s father-in-law even tried to keep the puppy with him overnight. What an actual legend. It just goes to show home much heart there is amongst animal lovers. Also a wonderful reminder that loving animals means exactly that, all animals, not just dogs or cats. They all deserve our love and support in this world.
