‘I hear the vet nurse on the phone.. "OH MY GOSH!" *mumbling... "that's amazing!"’: The emotional fur family reunion of a missing dog found after ten years in a town an hour away from her home after a stranger saw her walking into a school

Rescuing a doggo is like opening Pandora's box. Ok, that might be a slight exaggeration, but there is some truth in that you never quite know what you are going to get out of that meeting. Sometimes you might find that the dog has been missing for mere moments and you are closer to stealing the dog rather than rescuing it. And other times, like in this story, you will come to find that the universe has used to perform some sort of miracle, because the dog that you found has been missing for almost a decade. Enough time for a family to give up hope and resign themselves to the sadness that is giving up on their canine child ever coming home.

So you can imagine the unbridled delight that this pawrent had when their darling doggo was finally brought home after so much time away. Thank goodness for the internet and the kindness of people who share these stories.

Well, if this was not a story of a successful dog reunion we would be calling this woman out for stereotyping doggos. Why can a dog not go to school? Do they not want to better themselves through education? Do they not wish to speak like us, to learn like us, to love like us? We most certainly think that they do and would appreciate that in future people give doggos the benefit of the doubt before assuming things like this. Sure, if you are curious you could try to approach the canine with a treat and they might share their life story with you. But not every dog going into an establishment they are usually seen in a lost dog…

Ok, this does not really sound like what you would expect from a doggo who has been lost for the better part of a decade. It is our fault after all that we have basically bred all the wolf genes out of our cute canines and for the most part made them less than useless out in the wild. So it is rather impressive that this clever canine somehow managed to find a way to get fed and taken care of all on her own.
