This is something that may seem obvious, but it really is amazing to think about sometimes. There is no way around it. You really do have a little creature - with its own thoughts, its own feelings, its own silly habits, likes and dislikes - walking around your home, demanding attention, love and food. This creature, which, despite being so, so small, has somehow become the center of your universe. This creature, who brings you joy with every tiny thing that they do. Sometimes, you have to paws and stop to think about it, to appreciate it, to say thank you to them for choosing to be a part of your lives.

Just to clarify: this person later said that their cat was absolutely fine and that they would not have posted this story in the first place had the cat been hurt. Not that we had any doubt in the matter. The places that cats get themselves into… places they know they should not be in… they know the risk that they take. And they speak up - very loudly, in fact - if you touch them in any way that is unpleasant to them. We're sure that they let their owners know, loud and clear, when the fun was over and it was time to get out.
