Skittish and pregnant void cat slowly makes her way to family who already has 5 cats, they still find her and all of her babies a furrever home: 'I definitely considered being a 6 cat household'

We don't void shame here, they're just as good as any other cat! 

There's such a magic to earning the trust of a once-skittish stray cat. It's never easy to gain their trust either. Stray cats are riddled with fears since they live on the street and have to be on guard and protect themselves all the time. It can take take, it unfolds slowly in tiny ways that end up feeling monumental. Just when your own torpor takes hold of you, they step a little closer, they pause and look at you, they even let you pet them a little bit. The decision to stay in the same spot instead of running away in a moment is what trust is all about, and is carefully built. 

At first, the cat may not even care about you. But them suddenly he keeps coming around, and coming by your porch. You even start putting food out to gain even more trust. One day, something shifts. The cat actually lets you pet him for a long time! You feel the weight of the world off your shoulders and get to feel like you've made a friend of sidekick. 

In the story here, a pregnant and skittish black cat comes around a certain home. She was really fearful at the beginning, but slowly over time she warmed up. She even had her kittens and brought them to the home. The only caveat was that the humans who she chose already had too many cats, and she didn't have much luck in the past with introducing them to strays. So she did what any decent person would do, she found good and furrever homes for the kitties.

  • It's not easy to gain trust in anyone, person or animal alike. Trust is so fragile that any little thing can alter the state of trust in a dynamic or relationship to the point that it ends. If it's not a safe space, then it's not the right space. It's only right if you feel like you can fully exhale there, like you can close your eyes and not fall down. This story is about that kind of safety, and it's even more beautiful when it's through the eyes of a cat.
