Perhaps one of the most irritating things about holding down the average job is how much of your time defaults to doing things for the sake of somebody else. This wouldn't be the worst if it were happening for the sake of something worthwhile, but more often than not, this couldn't be further from the truth. Many employees are dedicating forty hours or more of their lives a week simply to make some rich people richer. One thing that might prove a relief when AI wipes out so many jobs is that people might not have to be so concerned with that anymore.

Still, while these professional positions remain a thing, employees will still be rushing to fill them in the name of maintaining an income that pays their bills. That doesn't mean that they shouldn't have the opportunity to complain, though, and they are fortunate enough to have the accessible avenue of internet humor with which to do that. Memes are here to give an outlet to all types of workplace frustrations, while still enabling most of those who work in jobs that frustrate them to maintain a somewhat professional demeanor at work. It is this two-facedness that gets so many through the workday.
