Sometimes you just need to turn your brain off. We have to do so much thinking all day that we need a respite every now and then. That may sound like a negative thing, but it's actually positive. Every machine needs rest and repair. We can't expect all of our machinery to be running in tiptop shape if we don't treat it with care and respect. So this is why we get the urge to bed right every now and again. Some days it's just hard to leave the bed, when you know that hard work is waiting for you on the other side. So you delay it a little bit at a time. You snooze five minutes more than you normally would. You order breakfast via delivery, which is something you never do. But you deserve it. You've had a hard week, and you only have to do what makes you happy.

And what makes you happy right now is lying in your bed. Looking at your phone. You don't need to interrogate the impulse too hard. It's just a condition of life in 2026, and let's stop pretending that it's not. A good bedrock session can give you the urge to get up and get after it the next day. Sometimes you just have to call it quits on a certain day and know that you won't accomplish anything of note. And that's OK. Not every day is meant to be spent at full capacity. Nobody's keeping tabs on the score of our lives and judging us when we're not using our time correctly.

Our life is ours to live, and nobody else's. So if you want to lie in bed and scroll on me base all day, then go for it. There are worse things to do with your time. Far worse things. And who knows, you might even get inspired by one of the tweets in this list and end up with an idea that changes your life. Or you'll just have temporary relief from the dreariness of your day-to-day. And isn't that just as good? So if that's the headspace you find yourself in today, stop judging yourself.
