You may have heard that adopting a dog comes with more than a few challenges, and the people who have told you that are not wrong. But where they are wrong is in their perception that those challenges only serve to make your life tougher, this pawrent explains just how those challenges made her life infinitely better and brought her closer to her darling dog.

Doggo adoption is a hot topic and one that is filled with contention for all sides. Many people experience a strange form of push back from people in their close circles when initially announcing that they will be adopting a dog. Receiving unsolicited advice about their finances, living situation and future vacation choices. Then there can also be difficult rescues and shelters who needle and prod so much and so deep that you end up feeling that they do not even want to let someone walk out of there with a dog under their arm. And all that comes before the trials and tribulations of getting used to your dog and your dog getting used to you. It is overwhelming. But just because it is so intensely emotional, does not mean that it should not be done, after all giving a pupper in need a furever home is a noble quest and what quest is complete without some challenge?

It is amazing how many people will give you their opinion free of charge when you suddenly decide to bring a dog into your life. All of a sudden people prod and poke at all sorts of points in your life that have never interested them and should be of no interest to them as they are a part of your life and not theirs. But the only thing that matters when it comes to adopting a doggo, is that your heart is in the right place. If you are putting your heart first and willing to do whatever it takes to support your pupper, then everything will work out in the end. Ignore the nay sayers.

We wholly support this advice. A dog does not need to be an impedance upon your life. The idea is to add to your life. So instead of thinking that every time you want a holiday you need to spend extra money on a kennel service for your pupper, just book a holiday that can include your pupper. After all, you brought them into your life in order to enrich it and make it better, so why would you want them to miss out on a vacation where you have unlimited time to spend together and enjoy those precious moments.
