'I've been hearing howling for days': Kind person worries for stray cat, pspsps her until she comes and considers TNRing her

Pspsps…come here, kitty kitty. 

It can be so worrisome to hear stray cats outside. You hear a yelp, a scream, and you don't know what to do. Do you run outside and see what's going on? Do you ignore it and go about your day? The stress of wondering what it is and if an animal is in trouble can really get to someone. Not to mention the issue around stray cats. In some countries, stray cats are a normal occurrence, and people from individuals in neighborhoods, to businesses will put out food and water for all the stray cats around. It's especially common in Mediterranean countries. But for other countries without stray cat infestations, these poor critters are really at a disadvantage, and if you see one it's important to do the right thing. 

What is the right thing? Well, in the story below, the protagonist hears a cat crying and meowing for days. The kind person decides it's high time to take the cat in, and do TNR. After struggling to get her to come to him, he finally gets the cat to come, but she escapes. What he's really worried about is that she's not fixed yet, and that she's going to have kittens.   • To TNR a stray is the best thing you can do if you don't want to take in an animal. I completely understand if someone doesn't feel like they're at the place in the their life to adopt a cat. Sometimes people have other things going on. Maybe they're about to move, maybe they already have cats or pets. I know that my little kitty boy would never want another cat. So even if there was a poor rascal on the street, I wouldn't be able to take him or her home. A TNR would be the best case scenario.
