'[I] panicked and grabbed her in my coat': Caring person rescues frostbitten kitten they found crawling out of the snow, takes her home and gives her the warm life she deserved

Pay attention to stray cats in the winter, and you may end up with a companion for life.

We always say this to people - it's so, so important to keep an eye out for stray cats when snow hits. No cat should be left to freeze in the snow. And not every cat is built to be able to survive outdoor life on their own. The ones who are built for it do it. They find places to hide, ways to survive, to get through winter. The ones who don't end up in situations like this freezing frostbitten kitten.

If this person hadn't found this kitty on time, we don't even want to think about what would have happened to her. This cat was freezing and in really bad condition. 6" of snow is not something that anyone should have to deal with like that. And we can only be thankful that she was seen on time by someone who cared enough to go out of their way to help her. We can only imagine the relief she felt when she was taken out of the snow and wrapped up in that warm coat, finally on the way to her forever home.

This is a cat who desperately needed help. And we can only say thank you to you for going out of your way to help her. Living outside during winters that are this cold is not something that any cat should go through, and considering the condition that she was in already, there is no telling how long she would have made it out there had you not found her when you did.

It is too bad that you were unable to locate the mom or any other kitties, but we understand why you didn't stick around for long either. Grabbing the kitty and getting her out of there was the best thing for her. The sooner the better. Now, we can only hope that momma and any other potential kittens were not there, that they were somewhere else, safe from the cold. You did the best that you could have. You saved this kitten's life. That is something amazing, and we are beyond thankful. And we are sure that the little thing is thankful as well, and that she will reward you with many cuddles, hugs and sheniangans throughout her hopefully very long life.
