Cats take meetings very seriously, especially when it's a full cat council.

Any time two or more cats gather in the same room, it's clearly official. They sit in a loose circle like they planned it that way. One cat stares intently at another. Someone looks at the floor like they're deep in thought. Another gazes out the window, pretending not to care while still absolutely participating. No one knows what's on the agenda, but it feels important.

Sometimes the cat council meeting is quick. A few looks are exchanged. A tail flick signals disagreement. One member leaves early, as if they had another appointment. Other times, it goes on forever. Cats sit in silence for long stretches, waiting for something to happen, which somehow still counts as progress.

There's always a clear leader. They sit slightly higher than the rest, overseeing everything without moving. Another cat seems confused about how they got there but is committed to seeing it through. A late arrival wanders in halfway through, disrupting nothing and everything at once.

Hoomans are not part of the council. Observation is allowed, participation is not. Notes are unnecessary. Decisions may or may not be made.

When the meeting ends, the council dissolves without warning. Cats scatter to nap, eat, or stare into space. Whatever was decided remains a mystery, but everyone leaves like something very important just happened.

Those faces are clearly saying humans are not invited. This meeting is cats only, and the decision has already been made. You can look, but don’t speak, don’t interrupt, and definitely don’t ask what’s being discussed. Judging by the expressions, your presence is tolerated at best. Whatever this council is about, it’s above human clearance.

Clearly this is a very important meeting. The serious faces, the intense stares, the complete lack of movement all screams high-level discussion. No one is smiling, no one is distracted, and everyone looks deeply invested in whatever is being decided. You may not know what’s on the agenda, but you can tell it matters. Interrupting would be a very bad idea.

Sometimes the only way to get everyone together is to host a virtual meeting. No one has to move, pants are optional, and half the attendees are clearly multitasking. Someone is lying down, someone’s camera is “on” but not really, and everyone is ready to disappear the second it ends. Somehow, it still counts as attendance.
