We have to say that this is some pretty high level pawrenting right here. To look at your pup of 17 years and see that they are off is already one thing. Many people would chalk up a change in behavior to old age. But then to know exactly what it is that your pupper is seeking is seriously sweet. Like how intune with your doggo do you have to be in order to know exactly what they need and then to be humble enough to accept that you cannot fill that need yourself and the only one who can is another dog that gets what it means to be a dog. Oh the heights we still have left to reach.

It is wild how intensely grateful and elated this pupper was for her new friend. But it is rather reasonable when you spend your whole life limited by a language barrier between you and your pawrent, never quite able to express exactly what you need and want. And then for your pawrent to so pawfectly predict what it is that you were looking for all this time is pretty wild. If we hoomans were put in the same situation we would likely be just as elated to feel seen and understood so deeply.
