  • My boss marked an email "High Priority" at 5:45 PM on a Friday. It was a meme.

I saw the notification pop up on my phone while I was driving home. My heart dropped.
  • I pulled over, opened the Outlook app thinking the server crashed or we got hacked. It was a Minion meme about "hanging in there for the weekend." I have never felt more ready to quit in my life.

  • Forymanarysanar Don't really understand why would you even check your email after work has finished for today
  • Diantr3 That's actually pretty funny in a dumb way, but I don't know the guy.
  • KidenStormsoarer Make sure you submit that as time worked on a high priority call out
  • Honeybadgermaybe At least he has some sense of humour. Anyway, if you can't finish the task today during work hours - it's tomorrow task automatically no matter the red flags unless someone's life literally depends on you i guess
  • DoesNotArgueOnline I've done this to troll my close coworkers before, literally a meme. But I wouldn't do it outside working hours and definitely not to employees under me if I was a boss.

  • jeenyuss90 Man, yall make your own problems. Literally dont check your email after working hours. Let alone while driving. If its urgent or important a call or text is made. Not an email. I personally think that shits hilarious. If you check your email while driving and after hours... you are creating your own issues lol
  • DeDeluded That's your get out of jail free card. In future, don't bother checking mails outside work hours and if you get shit for it, just refer back to the stupid meme that had a priority marking on it letting them know you ignore those now as it nearly caused you to crash.
  • dorkpool You need to set expectations better. If your job requires such a response, then it should require a phone call, call not an email. Communication Urgency ladder: Phone Call > Text > IM/DM > email. Emails don't get checked over the weekend.
