  • "3 weeks ago, boss switches me and other service workers to 4-day work week. Wasn’t told to come into day and now I’m being let go."

As it says, I was told three weeks ago that they were switching all service personnel to a 4day, 10hr work model from our usual 5day, 8-10hr. So cut a full day out, yay!
  • And on last Thursday before I had Friday off, I was told to call in Monday morning before coming in. Well Monday rolls around, and I call, don't. go in. Great! A 3day work
  • week. Fantastic! I just moved too so moneys already tighter than a n se.
  • We'll skip to 12:50, I'm petting my cat and waiting for laundry when I get a call from the boss.
  • And very blatantly over the phone, he tells me the company has decided to let me go. He says it's not personal, and they will be
  • paying my final pay and in lieu of employment for this week I'm missing (which is a first) but it still stings. Now I'm hurriedly
  • updating my resume over my lunch and calling agencies and spamming indeed. Such a wonderful Monday...
  • A man works on his laptop in his home office while talking on the phone.
  • Darkgam... Did you normally call work before your shift to see if you needed to come in? That's a super weird red flag to me.
  • Technicia... It s s, but it seems like the company is failing.
  • mothandr... I really wouldn't take personally, this sounds like a failing company. Everyone there should be polishing resumes.
  • Blonde_D... I'm so sorry! It sounds like though that the company is going under, so it's probably not just you getting let go. Don't forget to file for unemployment! Godspeed!
  • hook1e03 That s s! I hope you get a new job asap in a place that respects you.. P.S. tell the cat, pspspsps
