Micromanager who berates employees for silly little things like forgetting to put on a name tag gets fired for not focusing on the bigger picture: ‘Should have thought of that before…’

Employees at a retail store recently felt satisfaction after their incompetent micromanaging manager got fired for micromanaging.

Oh, we love a satisfying story that gives us a win for the employees! Too often do incompetent managers have a hubris the size of Alaska. They proceed to manage as if they were the only ones in the world who know how to do anything correctly. Thus, they micromanage and reprimand their employees for laughable offenses like forgetting to put a name tag on or sitting down for one second during their shift. In this case, we have a manager exactly like that. But, luckily, karma was on the side of the employees, and so was corporate.

After a long time of this manager punishing employees with fewer shifts and write-ups for silly little things, corporate noticed something. They saw that this store was not doing as well as the other stores. Why? Because the manager was focusing on unimportant little infractions rather than their duties of helping the store grow and keeping a strong workforce.

So guess what? The manager got fired. If only micromanaging was an official fireable offense every time!

It's never harder to do your job than when a higher-up is breathing down your neck while you're trying to do it. How is that not obvious to every manager? Micromanaging should always be a fireable offense and we are so happy that the higher management of this retail store also thought so. Perhaps they only cared because the numbers were low and not so much because the employees weren't happy… Still, the employees got the satisfying karmic outcome they deserved.

You know what is just as laughable as those silly little offenses this now-ex manager used to write up his employees for? The fact that he thinks he can rally the employees he micromanaged to start a fundraiser to help him through being let go. You got what you deserved, boss.
