Employees at a retail store recently felt satisfaction after their incompetent micromanaging manager got fired for micromanaging. 

Oh, we love a satisfying story that gives us a win for the employees! Too often do incompetent managers have a hubris the size of Alaska. They proceed to manage as if they were the only ones in the world who know how to do anything correctly. Thus, they micromanage and reprimand their employees for laughable offenses like forgetting to put a name tag on or sitting down for one second during their shift. In this case, we have a manager exactly like that. But, luckily, karma was on the side of the employees, and so was corporate. 

After a long time of this manager punishing employees with fewer shifts and write-ups for silly little things, corporate noticed something. They saw that this store was not doing as well as the other stores. Why? Because the manager was focusing on unimportant little infractions rather than their duties of helping the store grow and keeping a strong workforce. 

So guess what? The manager got fired. If only micromanaging was an official fireable offense every time!

  • It's never harder to do your job than when a higher-up is breathing down your neck while you're trying to do it. How is that not obvious to every manager? Micromanaging should always be a fireable offense and we are so happy that the higher management of this retail store also thought so. Perhaps they only cared because the numbers were low and not so much because the employees weren't happy… Still, the employees got the satisfying karmic outcome they deserved.

    I work in a retail store my general manager was horrible. Would not give shifts to people who called out due to unavoidable reasons like trains being cancelled for the day or cars breaking down or houses flooding.

  • Would also berate people for standing doing nothing for even 2 minutes. He also yelled at my 16 year old coworker for 20 minutes because she had her phone with her due to her dad needing to call her about something important.

  • The worst was when he didn't give me shifts for 3 weeks due to forgetting to wear my name badge which caused me to not have money to pay my rent.

  • On a random day one of my coworkers came up to me and let me know that it was going to be the general managers last day and he was never coming back.

  • I was shocked as no one had heard of it until half an hour before the manager was supposed to leave.

  • I then later learned from a coworker im quite close with and hangout with outside of work that he was actually fired by the district manager because the store was underperforming and he wasn't doing enough to make sure the store ran well.

  • Turns out he was too busy focusing on things that didn't matter and slightly irritated him than his actual job.

  • And the funniest part to me is that there is now a sign in the break room about a fundraiser being held to help him financially as he now doesn't have a job.

  • You know what is just as laughable as those silly little offenses this now-ex manager used to write up his employees for? The fact that he thinks he can rally the employees he micromanaged to start a fundraiser to help him through being let go. You got what you deserved, boss.
