24 Snow Puppers who’d Place on the Podium at the Winter Awwlympics

With the winter olympics around the corner we wanted to shed some light on a lesser known competition that is just as intriguing and ten times as cute. So we are delighted to share with you this collection of cute canines who would place on the podium at the upcoming winter awwlympics.

The awwlympics (while being completely fictitious) were set up a number of years ago to celebrate the various ways in which our pawdorable pets cause us to say 'aww'. And while the event was initially a summer affair, there were some dog pawrents who were dissatisfied with having to handle the hot weather and so a winter version was established a few years later.

It still has the same kind of competitions, long jump, 100m dash to the food bowl, cuddle competition and of course the mutt marathon, but there are also a few winter specific events. There is the snow roller event where dogs have one minute to roll around in snow and try to fully cover their fur in the white stuff. There is the dogsled event where dogs have to be as stubborn as possible so that their hooman carries them on a sled. This is pawticularly tough seeing as the pawrents try to use tempting treats and toys to entice their puppers. And we are proud to share a taste of all that fictitious action in this cute collection of snow puppers.

One of the most important awwlympian values that the judges look for is dedication to the craft. And as you can see by the needy look in this darling doggo’s eyes and the snow encrusted around its nose, if there is one thing that this doggo is dedicated to, it is playing with that ball in the snow. Now sure, the discipline of ball playing is still quite a new one to the awwlympics, but it is one that is sure to be making grand strides in the coming years. Much like pickleball…

When the organizers of the awwlympics first spoke of the idea of setting up the long jump competition they were immediately faced with a problem. How were they going to convince the darling doggos to jump long rather than jump high. But it turned out that the solution had been staring them in the face the whole time, it was to use the doggo’s pawrent’s faces as the jumping targets and to have them bend over at the waist to avoid any extra height being added unnecessarily to the dog’s jump.
