Oh lordy, this cat is in for the shock of a lifetime. It is rather hilarious how you can think to yourself that you are on such safe and stable ground only to instantly find out that everything you thought was true is no longer so. But mom is rather right, it sounds like this cat child is in need of a buddy. Specifically a buddy who can play in the way that this cat likes to, allowing his dad’s hands to heal and for the family’s bandage budget to shrink significantly. And while it might initially be a rude awakening at first having a new cat in the house, these things will likely work out in the end.

Ah jealousy, you are an ugly monster and there is hardly a hooman or even a cat that you cannot color with your ugly ugly colors. Poor cat though, it must be so tough to go from having your own territory where you feel safe and secure, complete with your own toys and routines, only to have it all pulled out from under you. And for a new and improved version of yourself no less. But surely if dad thinks the new kitty is cute, then our feline protagonist will come around, after all his dad is his best bud, and best buds’ opinions ought to be valued.
