Dog found abandoned in middle of road eating a possum saved by driver, and after fruitless search for pawrents is given forever home with canine siblings, dog dad says: ‘I came back home with something worth a whole lot more to me than a paycheck!’

Each canine rescue has a different flavor to it. Some come with a strong stench of trash, while this one comes with a delightful aroma of smush possum, meaning that this story ends with a bath using extra fragrant doggo conditioner.

It is becoming more and more apparent that alongside the usual hazards that you should be aware of while driving around such as cars and hoomans. Drivers should also be very wary of stray dogs lining the sides of the roads, and as in this case helping themselves to a road derived treat in the middle of the road.

For you never know when you might turn around a switchback and find yourself face to face with the pupper you are about to bring home and let live with you forever. Which is exactly what happened to the doggo hero in this story who dropped everything while on his way to work to tend to the sweet pupper who had so timidly run to hide under our hero's car after stopping to see if the dog was ok. And while this man might not have immediately realized that this doggo was destined to be his, he finally manage to figure it out before it was too late.

Well, you know, what are you going to do? Sometimes life just does not afford you the opportunity to do more than toss a piece of road animal into the woods to make sure the two abandoned dogs you’ve come upon do not find themselves with a similar fate. There is no discrediting this good deed. Even if it is entirely timid as we know what is about to happen to this dog lover who thought he was in for a quick helping hand. It is so funny to see how unaware some of these rescuers are at the beginning of their stories, you just want to scream out to them and tell them what is about to come their way.

Oh she would not move you say? It is almost as though she knew that you were photographing her in order to post her online as missing, but all she wanted dear oblivious hooman was to come home with you to your nearby residence. Surely you might have figured that out even just a little by the fact that she chose your car to hide under. Yeah, the car with your smell attached to it. If only these people could see themselves in real time. This man could have just given in, told her to come with him to their furever home and lived happily ever after. But then again, it would mean we did not have such a sweet story to tell.
