Young dog found caged in remote wilderness cabin by dog loving family on walk who adopted the neglected pupper, helping him regain his strength and spark, dog mom says: ‘’He likes to lick apple but not eat them’

While many abandoned doggos manage to find hoomans to help them, not all are so lucky. As was the case for the poor pupper in this story who was found closed in the cage of a remote wilderness cabin that a dog lover happened to be walking past.

Luck plays a major role in any abandoned dog story. They have to be lucky in their time on their own that they manage to find food, shelter and avoid being hurt. Then the rescuer has to be lucky to come across the doggo in the first place. And then both the pupper and their savior need a whole heap of luck to make it so that the right conditions can be created for the pupper to find their furever home, whether it be with their rescuer or someone else. But the amount of luck needed to come upon a canine who is in the middle of nowhere, closed in a cage, with little experience in life and no food or water is simply unreal.

This doggo did not have the chance to fend for himself. He did not have the option of trying to seek out the smell of people. And his rescuer had no clue they were about to find him on a walk that should have been completely uneventful. Lady luck lent these sweet souls a lot of her luck for this rescue to go off without a hitch.

  • Well, it is not all too often that we come across a rescuer who has such a deep understanding of the needs of a doggo in distress so early on in their rescue attempt. But that is what you need when you are rescuing a doggo in the middle of nowhere. It is not like they had the time and resources to go back and forth trying different foods. They needed to get it right the first time and get the poor pupper out of the dreadful situation it had found itself in. All we can say is thank goodness for knowledgeable dog owners.

  • Wow, what a transformation. It is truly heartbreaking to keep coming up against all the terrible things that doggos are subjected to in this world. Treated as though they are tools, accessories or simply unimportant and left to expire on their own. But each and every time we are lucky enough to see their resilience shine through like in the case of this strong doggo, it fills our hearts with hope that the next pupper to be abandoned will also have enough strength and courage to hang on until someone can come to their aid.
